Four projects prepared by academics from Mersin University have been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.

Within the scope of the program, which aims to support scientific research and generate new knowledge, projects prepared by academics from different disciplines in the fields of environment, chemistry, archaeogenetics, and health were deemed successful.

Associate Professor Dr. Aydeniz Demir from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, was awarded funding for her project titled "Simulation of Electrooxidation and Membrane-Supported Vermifiltration Hybrid System in Process-Induced Odor Removal and Wastewater Treatment in Rendering Plants with COMSOL Software".

Associate Professor Dr. from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science... Özgür Yılmaz's project, "Photoredox Catalyzed Alkyl Group Change in Tertiary Amines and N-Alkylation of Secondary Amines: Method Development, Investigation of the Contributions of Alkyl Group Effect to the Biological Activity of Drug Molecules and Mechanistic Studies," received TÜBİTAK 1001 support.

Dr. Emrah Kırdök, Assistant Professor from the Department of Plant and Animal Production at Silifke Applied Technology and Management College, was awarded funding for his project, "Investigation of the Potential of Lake Sediment Ancient DNA in Understanding Human and Ecosystem History in Anatolia: A Paleogenetic Study on Gölhisar Lake."

Dr. Öğr. from the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Dentistry... The project titled "Experimental and Analytical Investigation of Bisphenol-A and Microplastic Release from Resin-Based Appliances Used in Dentistry and Toxicological Risk Assessment" by our member Onur Etöz was also among the supported projects.
