Mersin University Research Dean and Head of the Telecommunications Department of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Faculty, Prof. Dr. Caner Özdemir, met with young people and citizens at the "Career in Tomorrow's World: Professions of the Digital Age" talk, organized within the scope of the Science Cafe events coordinated by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The event was held at Forum Mersin Artists' Square with a large turnout.

In the program, Prof. Dr. Caner Özdemir made assessments on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, communication technologies, and the competencies that will stand out in the future business world. Drawing attention to the rapidly changing dynamics of the digital age, Özdemir emphasized the importance of young people being equipped not only with technical knowledge but also with analytical thinking, problem-solving, interdisciplinary work, and lifelong learning skills.

The importance of cooperation between academia and industry was also discussed, and the opportunities that students can gain by focusing on research, innovation, and technology-oriented fields in their career planning were shared with the participants. Industry representative Prof. Dr. also participated in the program. H. Duygu Bilgen and Mahmut Altun, a student from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Mersin University, also shared their experiences with the participants, offering different perspectives.

The event continued interactively with a question-and-answer session, giving participants the opportunity to ask the experts questions about future professions, the impact of digital transformation on working life, and career planning.
