In collaboration with TÜBİTAK and Mersin University, the Mersin University Research Dean's Office will organize a "Horizon Europe Information Day" event to support researchers in learning about European Union funding programs and increasing their capacity to develop international projects.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, between 09:30 and 16:00 in Hall B of the Prof. Dr. Uğur Oral Culture Center. TÜBİTAK experts will provide comprehensive information about the Horizon Europe Program and the European Innovation Council (EIC).

The program will cover:

The general structure and application processes of the Horizon Europe Program,

European Innovation Council (EIC) support mechanisms,

Horizon Europe Cluster 1: Health Area calls and opportunities,

Bilateral meetings with researchers.

These topics will be discussed. The speakers at the event will be Çağrı Yıldırım, Director of TÜBİTAK European Union Framework Programmes; Gürkan Bozkurt, National Contact Point for Cluster 1: Health Field; and Erencan Bal, National Contact Point for EIC/EIE/EIT Programmes.

The event, to which researchers, academics, and all stakeholders interested in developing projects are invited, will offer opportunities for sharing up-to-date information on European Union research and innovation funds, as well as one-on-one meetings to evaluate project ideas.
