A comprehensive information and evaluation meeting was held on May 12, 2026, at the Faculty of Medicine – Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan Conference Hall, organized by the Mersin University Research Dean's Office, for the academic staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dentistry. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Fethi Atil, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Necmiye Canacankatan, along with faculty members, doctoral and master's students from the respective faculties.

The meeting addressed the university's work in line with its Research University vision, institutional structure, and performance indicators. The event, which began with a presentation by our Research Dean, Prof. Dr. Caner Özdemir, included a presentation on the organizational structure of the Research Dean's Office, its service units, national and international project support mechanisms, and strategic goals for strengthening the research ecosystem. Prof. Dr. Özdemir emphasized the importance of producing competitive knowledge within an ethical framework, with the participation of all stakeholders.

The event continued with a presentation of current data on article, paper, and project performance, as well as publication and citation indicators, for the Faculties of Pharmacy and Dentistry. In the final part of the meeting, Ramazan DUMAN, Head of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) – Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Department, gave an informative presentation on intellectual and industrial property rights, patent processes, and the commercialization of university-originated inventions. The importance of patent applications conducted at universities within the framework of the Industrial Property Law and examples of their application were shared with the participants. Our Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Yasemin YUYUCU KARABULUT, contributed valuable insights to the presentation.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and exchange of views among faculty members, doctoral and master's students. The meeting aimed to contribute to strengthening the research culture and increasing project-oriented studies at Mersin University's Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Dentistry.
