The 4th annual Research Deanships Workshop was held at Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University, with the participation of seven university rectors, numerous university vice rectors, 20 university research deans/coordinators, TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Dr. Özgen Ercan, Turkish National Agency Communications Department Director Dr. Rana Kasapoğlu Önder, Agricultural Research and Policies Deputy General Manager Mesut Akdamar, and Çanakkale Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Toraman. The Research Workshop was also attended by our University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Öztürk and Research Dean Prof. Dr. Caner Özdemir.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. In his opening remarks, Ömer Toraman emphasized the need for the private sector to increase R&D investments. He emphasized the responsibilities of universities in terms of education, R&D, and social contribution. He also emphasized the need to develop concrete collaborations between universities and the private sector, given that public support plays a significant role in R&D advancements.

The two-day workshop concluded with presentations by university research deans/coordinators, a panel on the Future of the Research Ecosystem in Türkiye, and sessions on national and international funding and the private sector. Following these sessions, the research deans/coordinators concluded with the presentation of the final declaration and policy recommendations.
